Evans Falco since 2010
Evans Falco LLP is authorised by the FCA and we’re up and running!
We move into our first office at Queen’s Chambers, 38-40 Queen St, Penzance. It’s one office of the 6 in the building, and there are the two of us, two desks, one phone and a kettle,
Diana Shears becomes an authorised adviser of Evans Falco as well as still being authorised in her own firm
An agreement is signed between Diana and Rosie Falco, agreeing the transfer of Diana’s business to Evans Falco LLP over the following 5 years. The remainder of the year is spent inputting all of the client data into our back office system….which turns out to be a rather large task.
Diana joins Evans Falco to work with us in handing over her clients in a managed and seamless transition over the following year
Diana Shears Financial Services is de-authorised and Diana continues to work as an adviser with Evans Falco
We purchase the freehold of Queen’s Chambers, after it is put up for sale by the owners.
Retirement day! Diana steps down to enjoy a well-earned retirement
Evans Falco acquires MW Financial – an IFA business run by a long-standing friend of Rosie’s, Mark Williamson, and based out of Whitakers Chartered Accountants in Newquay. Mark also becomes and adviser with Evans Falco and we retain the office at Whitakers which he works from
Our adviser team increases when our new adviser, Hilary Pryor, becomes authorised within Evans Falco. Hilary joins us from working with a large national adviser firm, having become disillusioned with their way of working, and wanting to advise her clients within in a completely independent, Chartered firm
Our trial run of working from home as the Covid 19 pandemic encroaches becomes normal procedure. Our Penzance office is temporarily closed up, along with most other businesses’; video calls and the telephone become our means of communication with clients and each other
Independence day: the first lockdown is lifted, but we take things very carefully and actually carry on working from home for much of the following year, through the second and third waves and subsequent lockdowns
Mark Williamson retires as an adviser of Evans Falco and heads off to enjoy playing lots of golf and relaxing, after a long and successful career
After much deliberation and debate, we decide to put the Penzance office on the market: Covid -19 and prolonged periods of working from home have made it obvious that the office is far too big for our needs, and in addition – for most of us – driving to and from Penzance, particularly in the summer traffic, is a major inconvenience.
We shake hands with a prospective buyer who would like to purchase the office, with completion set for 31st January 2022
The sale of Queen’s Chambers is completed and we have had a manic month getting everything packed up, taken to the dump, or put into storage – on top of client work. It really is a big office!
Fast forward to September 2022 – for one reason or another, it has taken longer than anticipated to find a new office but at long last we move into a new office at Barncoose Gateway Park.
Onwards and upwards!
